Is it calcification or a tumor on the testes (which has a hard painless lump)?

I had my doctor look at my right testicle for a lump I found. Without ultrasound he stated the lump was merely a calcification not a tumor. I was wondering how can one differentiate between a calcification lump and a tumor without an ultrasound imagery? Is there any person with credentials that can ease on this with a reasonable contention?
