We have a brinks system. I had it turned off due to were werent turing it on at night.?

I really like the beeps it made when doors where opened. And why cant you get it and have it work without police. I was thinking it would be just for our personal use when we shut it off. Is there anyway of making it works just for us. I dont want Brinks or police involed I would think hearing it go off etc would be good enogh
