Root kit problem what is C:\windows.0\system32\drivers\…

when i run a full scan with avast on windows XP I get a message saying: a suspiscious hidden object (rookit) has been detected. This may be a sign of malware. It is recommended to delete the file immediately. The file is C:\windows.0\system32\drivers\sptd.sys. I do not know what to do. Is it safe to delete this file?
