Fitting a rivet link to a motorcycle chain?

You are thinking that thy are a slip fit and they are anything but that.I use 2- 4 inch c-clamps at the same time.You can only go small increments at a time.If you force one side on to much you will never get the link together.Just start each pin a little then use the c clamps to squeeze the pin till each one bottoms out on the pad of the clamp.Then you can get a couple of nuts and put them over the pins and squeeze them the rest of the way through.
