Does anyone know if the Samsung BD-P1590 blu ray player is compatible with Panasonic Viera HD TVs?

I am thinking about purchasing this blu ray player as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend, but I want to make sure that it will work with the TV that we have. Anyone had any experience with this player and tv?
